Highlights from Term 1

Armidale Catholic Schools Primary Winter Trials

Congratulations to the group of students who volunteered to represent our school at the Armidale Catholic Schools Primary Winter Trials on Friday, 6 March, as referees and umpires in soccer, hockey and netball.

We received fantastic feedback from the organisers and selectors, who were very impressed with the way these students conducted themselves. In particular, they highlighted how our students supported the primary players—not just officiating, but actively encouraging and coaching them during games. This was done with great leadership, confidence and maturity throughout the day. Well done to all involved.

NRL Knights 9's Gala Day

On 24 March, some of our U14's & U16 boys travelled to Tamworth to compete in the NRL Knights 9's Gala Day. With 32 teams from 10 schools competing, it was action plus from the first games at 8.45am, to the last at 2.30pm.

The U14's lost to a very strong Farrer side first up by 16 - 8, then went down to Tamworth High by 16 -0, before an exciting draw with Oxley High.

The 16's drew their first game 8 all with Oxley High, then had three big wins against Peel High, McCarthy and Tamworth High, led by their talented captain, Caden Carson.

All boys displayed excellent sportsmanship and behaviour from the moment we left the College, throughout the day, and upon our return.

Touch Football

We had a number of students, both boys and girls, competing at the Armidale Diocese Secondary Touch Football Selection Trials on 26 March in Inverell. All students gave it their all, with Beau  and Oliver  (15's), along side Caden and Noah (18's) being selected to play at the NSWCCC Touch Football Selection Trials at Tuggerah from 21-22 April. Good luck to these players!
