Lenten Journey
In his Lenten Penance letter, Bishop Anthony encouraged all the faithful of Broken Bay to 'reconnect with our brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ; to reflect upon our spiritual pilgrimage both as individuals and as one community of disciples.'
With this in mind, all are invited to join us for Youth Mass which will take place at Our Lady of Dolours Church on Sunday 22 March commencing at 5:30 pm. This is a wonderful way to build our community up and share in the Eucharist.
The Edmund Rice Society continue with their Lenten Service activity of cooking pancakes to sell to the school community during Lent. These are on sale before school on Tuesday mornings.

Year 8 Formation Day
Last Friday, Year 8 attended their Formation Day at Oxford Falls. The day allowed the boys the opportunity to explore the theme of “Who do you say that I am?” a question Jesus posed to his followers.
Boys completed three sessions with focus areas on “I am”, “You Are” and “We are” and looked at their personal qualities, affirmed their friends, and then joined as a year level to look at their shared vision for the year, finishing the day with a liturgy.
Time away from the classroom is invaluable and allows quiet reflection, shared fun, and spiritual renewal. Thank you to the staff who assisted on the day, and congratulations to the boys for the way in which they engaged so willingly and enthusiastically.
St Patrick’s Day
Next Tuesday, 17 March is the Feast of St Patrick. As a fifth century Christian missionary this Irish Saint is known as the 'Apostle of Ireland.' We remember the wonderful Irish religious leaders who were strong in their Catholic faith and spread this around the world. In fact, Edmund Rice used to pray in St Patrick’s Church in Waterford: both these devoted men were full of compassion and love for the poor. St Patrick’s breastplate prayer is a lovely one to reflect on.

Any students who wish to take part in this year’s Doco in a Day film competition, please email Mr Callow.
WHAT IS ‘DOCO IN A DAY’?
‘Doco in a Day’ challenges students to create a short film about a global issue — like gender equality, access to education or sustainability — in just one day. But it’s not just a learning experience, students use their films to fundraise for life-changing educational opportunities in some of the world’s poorest communities. And the coolest part? There are prizes to be won for ‘Best Doco’ and ‘Top Fundraiser’.
Prizes:
