Principal's News

Mr Brian Anderson

Principal

Dear Parents & Carers,

We have certainly hit the ground running into the new term, and the school continues to be a joyous hub of activity.

Feast of St Joachim and St Anne

Last week, on July 26th, we celebrated the Feast of St Joachim and St Anne, the grandparents of Jesus and the parents of Our Lady.

The playground was filled with beaming grandparents and other family members. The children and staff were delighted that so many could join our special prayer assembly. A special thank you to Mrs. Khoury, grandmother of Ariella, Zavier, Aidan, Owen, Jovie, Sophia, Ethan, and Jack spoke beautifully to the community about the joy of being a grandmother. Her grandchildren are a credit to her!

Thank you to all the staff who ensured the morning was special for our grandparents and children. Fiona and I were privileged to speak with many families in Merici Hall during the morning tea. We shared stories and expressed our desire for the children to see how much the school values grandparents in their lives.

Friendology Program

Today, we launched our Friendology program, ably led by Miss Kyriakou and Mr. Blasonato. Friendology is an Australian well-being program designed to support children in developing and maintaining positive friendships. Class teachers will teach the program during Health lessons throughout Term 3 and into Term 4.

We saw many excited children on the playground today during the launch, and feedback from the children and staff was very positive.

Engaging with this program will enhance our student well-being strategy throughout 2024.

Winter Sleepout

Our Winter Sleepout is a new event on our calendar and offers children an opportunity to

spend time with their dads, grandads, uncles, or other father figures in a social justice experience. It will take place on Wednesday, August 14th, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Mrs. Barbera will share more details in her newsletter item.

Have a Great Weekend!

We look forward to your continued support and engagement as we progress through this term.
