SNAKES AND LADDERS

Snakes and Ladders is an incredibly popular game as children grow up, but perhaps your child feels like they are 'too old' for it now. Never fear, you can use your old snakes and ladders board for a fun and enriching Maths game!

Using the four operations, players roll a dice and then use that number to either add, subtract, multiply or divide with the number of the board they are on. For example, if the counter is on 12 and they roll a 4, they could move their counter to 16, 8, 48, or 3. At the beginning, many children will just multiply but as the game develops, they often notice what they need to do to land at the bottom of a ladder, or to avoid a snake.
