Book Week

26th of August to 30th of August

Book Week Celebrations

Charlton College will be celebrating Book Week in the week of 26th of August to 30th of August. Just to note, this is a week later than the set date by the Children’s Book Council of Australia due to other school commitments . This year’s theme is Reading is Magic.

The highlight of Book Week is our dress-up day, which will be held on Friday 30th of August. We would encourage all students and staff to come dressed as a character from a book or from the theme. On Friday morning during Advisory (9.00am) the students and staff will gather outside to see each other’s costumes. There will be prizes for the best dressed.

2024 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement.

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.

The survey will be conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will close on Friday 30 August 2024.

Details on how to complete the survey have been shared via compass.

We would really appreciate as many parents as possible taking the time to complete the survey.

We held a team meeting, Tuesday at the beginning of lunch. The focus on resilience this term was evident in the data. VCE students are receiving the highest number of tokens which is a real turn around and great to see, as these students do consistently exhibit the behaviours we want to see and that employers want to see.

Students who have displayed positive work ethic and achieved strong results in Years 5 to 10 and 12 sat the competition on Tuesday and students in Year 11 will do so on Thursday. The students became fully involved in the problems and worked really hard to find solutions. Plenty of diagrams, patterns and calculations were involved. The conversations afterwards were fabulous. So great to have such keen mathematicians. Well done crew!

Are these yours?

Some lost property is waiting in to office, if you are the owner, please come and collect it.
