Year One

As part of our current Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves, students are exploring how communities grow, source, and use food in many ways. Last week, we investigated honey. First, we used our knowledge of bees from our Minibeast inquiry to discuss honey and how it is made. Then we used our five senses to explore the honey. We even listened to the sound it makes when it is squished and stretched! Students used amazing descriptive words to describe the honey and how it felt, smelt and the sounds it made. Finally, students wrote a recount about our explorations. They included their amazing vocabulary in these pieces.
