Can you believe how fast this term is flying??! As the end of schooling for 2025 draws closer, we've asked our House and School Captains to reflect back over the year, and their time at ENPS. In this issue Sam, Engy, Astin, Jordan, Mia and Shyam kick things off for us...

Sam – School Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2025 so far?

Running assemblies, playing with my friends, sports.

 

What has been the best thing about being a School Captain?

Running assemblies and people saying hello to me in the yard/ making friends in other year levels.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain?

Public speaking and confidence in front of people.

 

What advice could you offer to the 2026 ENPS School Captains?

To be yourself and trust your instincts.

 

Have your schooling years at ENPS prepared you for the future?

Yes because it taught me life skills especially with some of the teachers l had.

 

Can you sum up 2025 in 5 words?

Fast, fun, memorable, soccer finals, preparation.

 

Do you have any advice for our 2026 Foundation students?

Have fun.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

Community. 

Engy – School Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2025 so far?

Year Six camp because of the lovely weather and the activities.

 

What has been the best thing about being School Captain?

Being able to speak at assembly every week and writing the newsletter.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain?

Some skills that I have learned is to be more open minded and being able to adapt to change of plans.

 

What advice could you offer to the 2026 ENPS School Captains?

Trust yourself no matter what and never stop trying because you are capable of doing many things that you put your mind into.

 

Have your schooling years at ENPS prepared you for the future?

I believe that my schooling at ENPS taught me to take risks and to be open to try and learn different things.

 

Can you sum up 2025 in 5 words?

Fun, exciting, surprising, challenging and adventurous.

 

Do you have any advice for our 2026 Foundation students?

Make sure to dream big and never give up.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

I will miss being able to help the school as much as I can and supporting and being with my friends and peers.

Astin – School Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2025 so far?

My biggest highlights from 2025 is having the opportunity of being a School Captain, I really enjoyed being a leader in this school and seeing how it runs in the full swing of things. I have really enjoyed being able to support others in hardships and always being there for others.

 

What has been the best thing about being School Captain?

The best thing about being a School Captain is helping those in need, having a responsibility and always being there as someone to talk to. I have really enjoyed working with Sam and Engy to make this school a better place no matter the circumstances.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain?

Being a captain has really improved my confidence in front of others and my public speaking ability, it has really made me more comfortable when speaking to hundreds of people at assembly and it’ll always help me later in life.

 

What advice could you offer to the 2026 ENPS School Captains?

My main advice would be to always have confidence in yourself even when you think you can’t, a person's public speaking ability is not about how good they are but it’s being confident and comfortable when speaking.

 

Have your schooling years at ENPS prepared you for the future?

I believe that yes, ENPS has prepared me for the future by providing and teaching me new ways to talk to others and live a life of fun and kindness, also the academics have prepared me for high school and longer.

Best Primary School Year Ever.

 

Do you have any advice for our 2026 Foundation students?

No matter what anyone says you matter. You friends may get annoyed or mad at you but just know that people are there for you.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

The community, teachers, school, friends, area.

Jordan – Gurrin House Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2025 so far?

Winning athletics day for Gurrin House in what felt like an eternity.

 

What has been the best thing about being House Captain?

The amazing opportunities we get, and being able to have fun leading our house team.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain? 

I learnt how to be a better leader and share my ideas with a variety of people.

 

What advice could you offer to the 2026 ENPS House Captains?

Always try to be confident. Be resilient and have determination to achieve your goals.

 

Have your schooling years at ENPS prepared you for the future?

I think it has helped me with communicating with groups of people and building confidence to share ideas.

 

Can you sum up 2025 in 5 words?

Dramatic, chaotic, amazing, fun, tiring.

 

Do you have any advice for our 2026 Foundation students?

Always try your best in learning, and don't live up to others' standards.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

Mia – Biik House Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2025 so far?

Running sports events.

 

What has been the best thing about being House Captain?

Running sports events.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain?

I have gotten a lot better at talking in front of an audience and I have become a more responsible leader.

 

What advice could you offer to the 2026 ENPS House Captains?

Believe in yourself.

 

Have your schooling years at ENPS prepared you for the future?

ENPS has helped me gain more confidence and bravery to put my hand up to do certain things.

 

Can you sum up 2025 in 5 words?

Fun, exiting, memorable, growth and pulchritude.

 

Do you have any advice for our 2026 Foundation students?

Stay positive, enjoy interacting with your peers and dream big.

 

What will you miss most about ENPS?

My teachers and the friends I have made.

Shyam – Biik House Captain

Do you have any highlights from 2025 so far?

Going to Year Six camp and Year Six Exhibition.

 

What has been the best thing about being House Captain?

That I got a lot of respect from everyone in and out of the school and trying my best to make our house win the competitions.

 

Did you learn any new skills being a captain?

I have learnt communication skills.

 

What advice could you offer to the 2026 ENPS House Captains?

To keep pushing through the hard times.

 

Have your schooling years at ENPS prepared you for the future? 

Yes I have learnt how to be organised.

It might be tough at first but stay strong and listen to the teacher.
