Beyond the Bell

ICAS Results 2025
This year, students from Years Two to Six took part in the ICAS assessments across English, Mathematics, Science, and Spelling Bee. These nationwide competitions challenge students to apply higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and subject-specific skills under timed conditions.
We are incredibly proud of every student who chose to participate. Their commitment, bravery, and willingness to attempt challenging tasks demonstrate a strong love of learning and a readiness to grow.
Congratulations to all students on their achievements.

Mathematics Talent Quest – Celebrating Our 2025 Young Mathematicians!
The Mathematics Talent Quest (MTQ) results are now out, and we are incredibly proud of every student who took part in this exciting statewide investigation challenge. MTQ encourages learners from Foundation to Year 12 to explore real-world problems, ask questions, think creatively, and communicate their mathematical ideas with clarity and confidence.
This year, ENPS students once again demonstrated curiosity, dedication, and a willingness to persevere through the full mathematical investigation process. While we did not have any entries progress to the finals this year, it is important to acknowledge that reaching this stage of the competition is an achievement in itself. MTQ is a highly competitive statewide event, and even submitting an entry requires significant effort, creativity, and commitment.
We congratulate the following students whose projects were submitted for state-level judging:
Mitchell (Year 1) – How long will it take me to earn my Taekwondo black belt?
Elisha (Year 2) – Sweet Surprises: Exploring probability with Smarties
Harrison (Year 3) – Which energy source is best?
Jasper (Year 4) – Detective! The Mystery of Items Found in Lost Property
Harshad (Year 5) – Pizza Packing Box – Square vs Round
Every student who participated should feel incredibly proud. Your investigations showed imagination, resilience, and a genuine love of learning. Taking on a long-term maths project – planning, testing, problem-solving, revising and presenting – is no small task, and you all rose to the challenge with enthusiasm.
Well done to all our young mathematicians – your curiosity, creativity, and courage to take on something new are worth celebrating!
