Hi all
SOFTBALL
On Wednesday, our boy’s softball team played and won the South Metro Region finals. We fielded a rag tag bunch of very good cricketers but with little experience or knowledge of the diamond sport. Mr. Giosis took held extra training sessions to improve their glove craft and their fielding strategies. The batting was sorted. They can all smash a ball.
They are a great bunch of kids too. They support each other. If it’s a great play or a dropped catch, they have each other’s back.
The region finals were not easy. The boys came from behind twice to win all four games. Having a lot of supporters there helped big time! We thank you all for your support. Our "Bad News Bears" will now play in the Victorian State Finals at Jells Park on Monday 24th November at Jells Park. We wish you all the best.
TENNIS
On Thursday, our girl’s tennis team travel to Pakenham for the South Metro Region finals for a shot to get into the Vic State finals. We will have a final practice this week to sharpen up and bring our best to the next tournament. I thank the parents in advance for your support and networking in getting the kids to the event. They are a great group to be involved with that have done well to get this far. Having said that, I think they have another big result in them!
SWIMMING TRAINING
We had a great turnout at our first training session on Wednesday, with 28 swimmers hitting the water at Toby Haenan’s. There’s still plenty of space in the pool, so we’d love to see even more of you join us this week.
We start at 7:00 am and swim for an hour. It doesn’t matter what level you’re at—everyone is welcome, and you’ll come away a better swimmer for it. See you there!
HOCKEY
Mentone Hockey Club are spending 2 days at school this week taking clinics for all of our Year 5s and 6s. It’s a great sport to get into. A flyer for their free junior clinics is attached.
