Seeking Shoe boxes:
Have you been looking for an excuse to buy new shoes? Look no further! We are seeking shoeboxes! Later in the term, students will make a moving toy using a shoe box. Please send along any unwanted shoe boxes to school for this activity.
*Please note that we do not actually expect anyone to have to go and buy new shoes.
Hats:
Term 4 is a Sun Smart term, and the students are expected to wear their wide brimmed or legionnaire hats when outside. Students know that if they forget their hat, they are to play in designated shaded areas.

Year One Dinner:
The much anticipated Year One Dinner is scheduled for Thursday November 13th, 2025, beginning at 4:30pm and concluding at 6:30pm.
The experience of having a meal and independently getting ready for bed in the school environment is the first stage of our sequenced camp program that develops throughout their primary schooling years. This will provide students with educational, physical and social experiences to complement the learning provided in the school environment and is designed to allow students to experience a range of activities that they may not have participated in previously.
Students will be dismissed as normal at 3:30pm and then return to school at 4.30pm. They will complete a craft activity, have dinner, change into their pyjamas and brush their teeth. Parents will pick up their child at 6.30pm outside the RedBrick Hall (playground side). Please look out for the dietary/allergy/cultural/religious limitation and dinner preference form that has gone home in book bags the other week.
Curriculum Focus: Weeks 4-6
Reading: During this term we will be covering stage 7.4 of the Little Learners Love Literacy program. Next week, the focus will be the alternative graphene for /n/ - kn and the alternative grapheme for /n/ - gn. In week 6, we will focus on graphenes “ew” as in threw and “ui” as in fruit.
Writing: The students will begin working on character developments to support their narrative writing. With lots of guided work and scaffolding, students will brainstorm accurate adjectives to use as descriptions for characters they create within their story. As well as exploring strategies to provide them with a unique voice and identity.
Numeracy: For the next two weeks we will be doing revision of place value concepts as well as strategies for the four operations.
Inquiry: Our topic this term is ‘What Makes Things Move?’ and have been exploring the different forces used to make things move. Over the next few weeks, the students will continue to make their own moving toys.
Willy Kids/Respectful Relationships: The Willy Kids focus is “Willy Kids are Honest” where students will be discussing honesty and fairness and how it promotes healthy relationships. In Respectful Relationships lessons, we will be focusing on ‘Help Seeking’ throughout Term 4. During weeks 5 and 6, the students will be learning about ways to help their peers. They will be working through scenarios that help our Willy Kids practice being good friends, and the skills they require when a friend needs them.
