Last week for Writing, we completed our end of year Cold Write which involved writing a recount about our best birthday ever. This week, we have returned to our focus on narratives. The students completed a piece of rocket writing about an octopus that was sitting in their kitchen sink. They have also begun planning and drafting a narrative of their own.
In Mathematics, we have continued learning about fractions, including halves, quarters and eighths, as well looking at what equivalent fractions are. The students enjoyed constructing a robot made of fractions.
For Topic, the students had a lot of fun sharing the items that they brought in from home that people once used in the past.
Be Awesome Day
Despite the weather, Be Awesome Day and the Colour Fun Run were once again a terrific success. A big thank you to the support and generosity of our school community. The students all looked to be having an awesome time and there were plenty of smiles and lots of colour at the fun run in the afternoon!

Grade 2 Sleepover
Our Grade 2 students all did a wonderful job at the Grade 2 Sleepover. They enjoyed free time exploring the exhibits, learning about the Solar System in the Planetarium and some were even brave enough to take a trip down the vertical slide. We witnessed lots of fun, laughter and smiles and trust they all had an awesome experience - even if it didn't involve oodles of sleep!

We have almost completed our end of year assessments. During Week 8, there will be some changes to our regular classroom routines due to the swimming program.
