Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
Over the past few weeks, our Grade 5 and 6 students have been exploring Topic 8 in the Respectful Relationships program, which focuses on understanding gender stereotypes, consent, boundaries and communication for building positive relationships and managing conflict respectfully.
To support our learning, we recently welcomed guest presenters from Bendigo Health, who spoke with students about puberty and the many physical, social and emotional changes that occur during this stage of development. The session helped students better understand how these changes can affect their emotions, friendships, and overall wellbeing, and encouraged open, respectful conversations about growing up.
Our students have engaged thoughtfully in discussions and activities, showing maturity, curiosity, and kindness as they continue to develop the skills to build healthy, respectful relationships with others.
I (Mr Trezise) was lucky to host these 9 awesome students in the staff room today as part of their SWPBS rewards. It cost them 50 stickers each, but I think the ice-cream and lemonade made it a bargain!
Thanks to all of our students who continually demonstrate our School Values, both in and out of the classroom.
The SRC will be holding a Downball Tournament later in this term as a fundraiser for our school. Today, the SRC clarified the scoring system, the rules, and the awards.
Entry will be by gold coin donation, and winners will be awarded for each cohort: Prep, 1/2's, 3/4's and 5/6.
Student are asked to register with their classroom teacher by giving a gold coin donation, and getting their name added to the list. The SRC will then organise rounds, to be advised once we have numbers.
In the meantime... get practicing!
