Digital Technologies

From First Clicks to Big Creations!
This term in Digital Technologies, the library has been buzzing with creativity, coding and problem-solving magic!
Our Foundation students are learning to use our desktop computers. They are developing their mouse skills, including clicking, double-clicking and using drag-and-drop actions, to interact with digital programs. Using the software 2Publish, they are learning to create simple digital work.
Year 1/2 students are continuing to learn about digital systems and developing their desktop computer skills, including mouse control and typing proficiency. They are also learning the fundamentals of using software such as 2Publish and Microsoft Word.
Year 3/4 students are currently following the design process, researching real-world zoos to learn how to meet the needs of different animals before they begin to sketch and plan their own designs. Students will then use Minecraft Education to bring their ideas to life, carefully constructing functional and enriching zoo habitats.
Year 5/6 students have been exploring LEGO Education WeDo 2.0, where they collaboratively built and programmed their very own Milo Space Rover. Through these hands-on lessons, students learned to use sensors and motors and developed their coding and problem-solving skills.
