The children were delighted to have a special guest in the French class this week. We welcomed Arthur Dutrieux, Madame Cecile's son, who was doing his year 10 work experience in our school. The children had to discover who our special guest was by asking him questions in French. They used their conversation skills to address Arthur in French in order to know his name, where he lived, if he had siblings, his age and what he liked to do. Junior students asked Arthur questions in English and he responded in French to test their understanding. With Arthur, junior students revised numbers and played games with numbers in French. Arthur also read the foundation children, a story in French. With senior students, Madame Cecile and Arthur had a conversation in French and students tried to understand what they were talking about. Then, Arthur taught them a French game: "le jeu du béret" and students went to play outside. All students really enjoyed this special week in French with Arthur.
