Art Studio and Practice - Visual Art 3

Art Studio and Practice and Visual Art 3 students are a wonderful mix of creatives who enjoy their time in their art studio (aka Art Room 2), planning and creating a variety of artworks from sculpted tree forms to oil paintings, mixed media and dioramic compositions.

They are on a visual art journey and have just begun to build a body of artwork that they will exhibit at the end of the year. Perhaps there will be a time and space at the end of Semester 1 to share their artwork before the big end of year exhibition and external evaluation.

Year 9-10 Visual Art

After many drawing exercises with multiple media such as graphite, white (pastel) on black paper, and ink, Year 9 and 10 students developed their observational skills and drawing techniques and collecting class exercises in a folio of drawings. They then chose to apply their skills to a portrait or to a series of smaller drawings that involved a metamorphosis of one object or animal into another. Some of the results as shown here are fantastic and the class invites their peers and teachers to an exhibition at lunch at the beginning of Term 2 to show all of their work in Art Room 1.

Perspective Landscapes - Year 7-8 Visual Art

Embark on a transformative artistic journey in our Visual Art class, where we draw inspiration from Tasmania's breathtaking landscapes and the timeless wisdom of its artists, all while championing sustainability.

As we explore merged landscape artwork using watercolour, graphite, pastels, and acrylic paint, we also delve into the rich tradition of perspective drawing. Through mastering the techniques of perspective, we gain a deeper understanding of spatial relationships, bringing our landscapes to life with depth and dimension.

Guided by the principles of sustainability, our art not only captures the beauty of Tasmania's natural wonders but also serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting our environment.

Computer Networks - Digital Technologies Year 7-10

In our Computer Networks Digital Technologies class, we've been delving deep into the fascinating world of digital connectivity. From dissecting the inner workings of the internet to understanding the intricate architecture of computer networks, we've been on an exciting journey of discovery.

We've learned how data travels across the globe, exploring concepts like IP addressing, routing protocols, and network security measures. Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, we've honed our skills in configuring routers, setting up local area networks, and implementing cybersecurity protocols.

2D Imaging Unit - TASC Computer Graphics and Design

I am thrilled to share the latest from our Computer Graphics and Design course! Over the past few weeks, we've been immersed in the world of 2D imaging, mastering the art of logo creation using Adobe Illustrator.

From brainstorming initial concepts to refining designs with precision, our journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Together, we've explored the intricacies of colour theory, the nuances of typography, and the impact of composition in crafting logos that truly stand out. With a strong emphasis on research and planning, students have been able to make informed decisions when developing their final designs for this project.
