International Women's Day

Audrey Wiseno

The annual International Women’s Day (IWD) Assembly held on Tuesday 5 March was a success thanks to the unwavering dedication of the Formation Executive Team and the unrelenting support of the Nossal community.

This year’s topic #Inspire Inclusion was well interpreted and celebrated by the many clubs that collaborated this year, such as the K dance club, Creative Writing club and Melbourne University Global Health Society club.

All performances and speeches were made by the women of Nossal, as it is integral to inclusion that girls of all skills, whether that be leadership or dancing, have a chance to celebrate on this special day.

We not only had inspiring speeches from our Acting Principal Ms Mackin and one of our School Captains Thehasna Nanayakkara, but it was great to see one of the Year 9 Formation members Alaysa Sharma “embrace the challenge” by contributing to a speech onstage as well.

It was a joy to see so many people dedicated to the spirit of #InspireInclusion, demonstrated by the dutiful congeniality of the audience. I’m very proud of my team who helped me put together this assembly, and so I hope we can continue to help Nossal uphold the values of Feminism and equality.
