What's happening in Year 4/5/6 space?
☼ Happy Term Two ☼
Our 4/5/6 learners have had a balanced return to Term Two.
With many positive changes to our routine they have remained open-minded, flexible and eager to jump into their learning.

Investigations
You may have heard your learners mentioning investigations throughout this week.
Possibly the biggest change the 4/5/6 learners have had to their routine is the introduction of Investigations and the buzz is high!
Investigations are a constructivist approach to education that promotes learning through actively doing and experiencing, differing from a traditional academic model in which children are more passive in their learning. Learners are invited to use their voice, by questioning and exploring the world around them.
I have been amazed at the enthusiasm, creativity and passion that has been sparked from these sessions and I am keen to see the different avenues our 4/5/6 children take their learning this Term.
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
Another change this Term has been the introduction of Paired Reading. This is a chance after every recess break, for 4/5/6 learners to use reading as a strategy to self regulate and centre themselves ready for learning. Some learners are choosing to read alone, whilst others are jumping at the opportunity to collaborate and read alongside their peers.
To continue this excitement around reading, learners will be given a new reading diary at the beginning of next week. We will do some learning around how our diary works and the purpose for having this diary.
Our aim for these diaries is to spark enjoyment and a love of reading, so to assist in this please remember to fill this reading log out whenever the reading bug strikes!
