Prayer and Acknowledgement
April 2024
With the recent events last weekend of the horrific stabbings and loss of life at Westfield Shopping Centre in Bondi, Sydney, we take a moment to pray and reflect on the lives of those who have been lost, and those who remain in care. We think of the families affected and we give thanks to those working tirelessly to help and support those in need.
Below is a prayer from Archbishop Kanishka Raffell, said at a recent service for those who wanted to gather and pray for those affected by the event.
Sovereign Lord and Loving Heavenly Father,
We grieve the loss of life through acts of violence in our city.
Please comfort all those who grieve or have been impacted by these events.
We thank you for the police, ambulance and emergency medicine personnel who were first responders to these events.
We pray for the recovery of those who have been injured, and those who continue to be distressed by these traumatic circumstances.
Father we are confused and distressed by violent and senseless acts in our city. We cast our anxieties on you, knowing that you care for us. Please turn our hearts to your Son that we may find our rest in him and hasten the day when peace and justice reign.
We pray in the name of Jesus the Prince of Peace. Amen
Archbishop Kanishka Raffel,

As we approach ANZAC Day I join with you in the solemn and significant remembrance of those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. In this moment of reflection, we honor their courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to a better world. Let us carry their legacy forward, cherishing the values of unity, sacrifice, and compassion.
We will be represented at the local Anzac Day Ceremony on Thursday 25th April. Please feel free to join us. On Friday 26th April we have been invited to attend an Anzac Day Ceremony at the Aged Care Facility at Nagambie Hospital. This will be at 1:30pm and again, all welcomed.
