From the Principal

Principal: Mathew Montebello

Dear Families,

Just like that term 1 has ended. What a term it has been with so much to celebrate. From myself, Lisa and all the staff at Williamstown Primary we want to thank our students and families for all their support. Willy Primary is truly a community within a community, and we feel blessed working along side our amazing families to give the best learning opportunities to our Willy Kids.

We wish everyone a fun and safe Easter and holiday break and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 15th April.

Cupcake stall

Each year our Junior School Councillors oversee our Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal fundraiser in the form of a cupcake stall. The excitement amongst the students is extraordinary as our families go on a baking spree to donate cupcakes for the stall. At the stall cupcakes are sorted into price categories due to size and creative design. Students across the school then have the opportunity to make the big decision of which cupcakes is worthy of their purchase. In all it is a great event that brings the community together while raising funds for the Royal Children’s hospital.

This year the stall raised over $2100, which is an amazing achievement for such a special cause.

Easter Parade and Raffle

The Easter Hat Parade has been part of Willy Primary for well over 40 years. The event brings huge eggcitement and is an eggstraordinary way to bring the community together.

Added to the parade in recent years has been the Easter parade. This year there were just under 70 hampers to be won. The raffle makes the parade eggtra special as students and families wait in anticipation to hear their names called out. A big thank you to our hosts Puhie and Eggmil who did an eggcelent job.

Also a huge thank you to our families for all the donations and purchasing of raffle tickets.

This year the raffle raised just over $4300. At $1 a ticket that is a lot of tickets sold.

Thank you to everyone for their support.

Warm regards,

Mat
