A Strong Start to Term 3
As we begin Term 3, I would like to welcome all students, staff and families back to PBC. I hope the holiday break provided an opportunity to rest, recharge and spend quality time with family and friends. The term ahead promises to be a busy and exciting one, filled with opportunities for learning, achievement and connection across our school community.
Term 3 is often regarded as one of the most important periods of the school year. For our Year 12 students in particular, the finish line is now in sight. As they prepare for final assessments, external examinations and decisions about life beyond school, they are entering a significant chapter of their educational journey. Whether students are planning to pursue university studies, apprenticeships, traineeships, employment or other pathways, we encourage them to remain focused, seek support when needed and make the most of the opportunities available to them. We are incredibly proud of the commitment and resilience shown by our senior cohort and look forward to celebrating their achievements in the months ahead.
One of the strengths of PBC is the wide range of opportunities available to our students. Throughout Term 3, students will have the chance to engage in learning experiences, competitions, performances, leadership activities and community events that help them develop confidence, character and a strong sense of belonging within our school community. We encourage every student to get involved, challenge themselves and embrace the opportunities that come their way.
Our calendar is packed with events that celebrate the diverse interests and talents of our students. We will kick off the term with the Track and Field Carnival, one of the highlights of the sporting calendar, where students can demonstrate house spirit, athletic ability and teamwork. We will also come together to recognise and celebrate the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through our annual NAIDOC Assembly.
Students and families will have the opportunity to engage in important future-focused events, including the Year 10 SET Plan Information Night and the Year 12 Futures Night, which provide valuable guidance as students plan their educational and career pathways. Other highlights include Restaurant Week, where our Hospitality students showcase their skills and professionalism, National Science Week, which encourages curiosity and innovation, and the GCSS Sport Cluster Day, offering students another chance to represent PBC with pride.
A special welcome is extended to the students and families joining our school community this term. Starting at a new school can be both exciting and challenging, and we are committed to ensuring every new member of our community feels supported, connected and valued. We hope your time at PBC will be both rewarding and memorable.
As always, I would like to thank our parents and carers for the vital role you play in supporting your child's education. The strong partnership between home and school is one of the key factors in student success, and we greatly appreciate your ongoing involvement in school life.
I look forward to another productive and successful term and to celebrating the many accomplishments, milestones and experiences that will undoubtedly unfold across our vibrant school community.
