Year 5 & 6 Gala Day

The weather stayed clear for us and from all accounts all of the students had an enjoyable time, showing great sportspersonship and representing SJV so well.

Congratulations to everyone that participated in softball, soccer and netball. Congratulations to those that will be representing SJV at the next round - Division finals in Netball (Girls & Mixed) on Friday 9th August and Soccer (Boys) on Tuesday 6th August.

Thank you to our volunteers that came along on the day - Lisa, Kylie, Marie-Claire, Fiona to help score.  Thank you to the teachers and LSO's that helped coach our teams.  Everyone's assistance is greatly appreciated.

EMR Cross Country

Congratulations to both Nathan and Xavier for participating in the EMR Cross Country last week.  We are super proud of the efforts they made on the day and to get this far is a fantastic achievement.

District Athletics - 23rd July

We will be running our year 4-6 House Athletics Day in week 2 of term 3.  This is a day we use to have some fun and put to practise some of the events we have been learning during class.  This is also used as a qualifier for the District Athletics which is scheduled for September 10th.  Any parents that wish to help on the day, an operoo will be sent out before the end of term.

District Basketball - Years 4-6

We will be running our year District Basketball Days for year 4, 5 & 6 in term 3.  Week 3 for year 4 and week 6 for year 5&6.  Joe Mutimer kindly came along in week 9 & 10 to assist us with refining our basketball skills in year 5.  He also hung around to run some basketball trials for us for the year 5 & 6 students.  Any parents that wish to coach or score for either of these days, an operoo will be sent out before the end of term.

Taekwondo - Year 1 & 2

We finished our final session of Taekwondo this week and the students in year 1 & 2 have learnt so much over the weeks.  Hopefully they have shown you some of the moves they learnt from Mr Noble. Below is some information he provided me with that may be of interest to any that may wish to continue the sport or have been thinking about it.

Have a great break with your families!

Stay safe, keep active
