Kitchen Garden

Each term the students in 2/3/4 and 4/5/6 go to Kitchen Garden. The students expressed an interest in taking the recipe home so they could do it in the holidays. Please find the attached recipes for Vegetarian Sausage Rolls and Pumpkin Scones.  Enjoy.

Introducing Preservice Teacher Olivia Coburn in F/1

My name is Olivia, and I’m 25 years old. I work in a school as a learning support officer and have been for 5 years. I am currently in my 3rd year of teaching. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my friends, family, and my dog, Benson. I’m looking forward to doing my placement at Newham Primary and meeting you all!

NAIDOC WEEK

Naidoc week is a celebration for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island People. We did weaving using red, yellow and black. We used those colours because they are the colours of the Aboriginal flag. Black for the people, yellow for the sun and red for the ground. We did painting about the book "What Country Means to You." We did music using clapping sticks and learned Aboriginal words. It was fun!

F/1 Potato Olympics

We made some potatoes. We got a potato and we put some eyes on it. Then we made some stuff to go on it. We made flags and my one was Mexico. Then we made some ramps to try to see where our potatoes could go whether they were the farest [furthest] or not. Then we did a race and my potato went the farest. It went to the library and went inside. I felt good making a potato.

World Vision Visit

Sarah came to school and told us about how some people don't get what we get. Some people only get one serve of food each day. Some people want more and they already have enough. She said some people only get a bit of water per day. Some schools give students a meal and it might be their only meal for that day. World Vision helps kids by giving them more meals than just one.
