Feedback About Our School
Hi Mark,
I am not sure if you heard about Ava's performance yesterday at the talent show.
She was in tears because some of the children laughed when she was dancing and she stopped, but I don't think she is going to remember that part anymore. She is going to remember how Terri rushed to her and helped her calm down, how Kate let her have a go again (even though short of time), how Kate offered to join her when she performed, how the grade 5/6 girls joined her to support her and how everyone clapped and supported her while she danced. And then how every teacher and student that she came across after the talent show praised her for her performance, she walked out of the school feeling so proud. After school she went to her dance class, ran up to her dance teacher and said " I danced at the talent show and everyone said I was amazing" (proof of what she will remember ).
I have always felt lucky and blessed that we are part of the Sacred Heart School but yesterday I felt it more. I am writing this email because I want to thank the teachers for all that you do, the way every child supported Ava and the care shows the great values the children are taught at Sacred Heart.
Can you also please pass on my thank you to the grade 5/6 girls for supporting Ava.
Thank you from a very grateful parent,
Tissa
Before And After School Care - Survey
We are looking at the feasibility of changing our Out of School Care Provider. I would really appreciate both parents who currently use the service and those who may in the future, especially with a new provider, to complete the survey (link attached). Data we obtain will allow us to make a more informed decision (ie. entice a new provider!)

Casual Clothes Day
Next Thursday will be a casual clothes day. We ask that students bring a gold coin as a donation. Money raised will go into our Parents and Friend's account for purchasing resources for our students.

Mercy College Coburg Visit
Thank you to Mercy College Coburg for organising a great session with our girls from Years Four and Five. Our former student Jemimah who now attends Mercy was greeted like a rock star upon her return. Our Year Six student Yianna has enrolled for Mercy College in 2025 and was also part of Friday’s session. Some more information about Mercy College can be found in the Community News section of this newsletter.
Latest Fundraising Through CDS Victoria Scheme
That's $50.00 /month raised for our school. Thank you to all the families who continue to support this initiative raising money for our school and caring for our fragile environment by reducing landfill.
Instrumental Music Program
Please see below the new enrolment form for the school keyboard/guitar lessons that are offered on a Tuesday during school hours. Davide's free trial may be of interest to parents whose children are not currently part of the instrumental music program.
Warning, Warning...............
Don't give these four students a hard time (only joking!) As a result of the demonstration from GKR Karate at last week's assembly, Cody, Massie, Yaseen and Suzanna have joined their classes. Whilst I have never participated in martial arts, I do know it is a great way to build self discipline, fitness and the skills to defuse a potentially dangerous situation by knowing how to defend yourself.
Yours Sincerely
Mark
