Winter Uniform

A reminder that students return in Term 3 continuing to wear full winter uniform. This includes the college blazer, shirt and tie, long grey pants with black belt and the college grey jumper for extra warmth, along with black or grey socks and polished black leather school shoes. A reminder that the Uniform Shop is open:

Tuesday: 8:00 am to 12:00 noon,  2:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Wednesday: 8:00 am to 12:30 pm

Thursday: 8:00 am to 12:30 pm

The college uniform also includes the college backpack. The sports backpack issued for sporting tours is NOT part of the college uniform from Monday to Friday. It can be used on weekends or sporting tours.

The college rain jacket is NOT an alternative for the school jumper or blazer. It is the only rain jacket to be worn on wet days. No other type of rain jackets are permitted. Hoodies of any type, including the college sports hoodies, are never to be worn as part of our college uniform.

In addition to organising your winter uniform, haircuts/styles must also reflect the regulations in the St Pius X Hair Guideline policy.

Hair Guideline Policy

Students must have their hair cut according to St Pius X College requirements as follows:

  • Hair should be neatly cut and maintained at all times.
  • Hair must be tapered at the back, sides and above the ears blending with the hairstyle.  It must be cut and groomed so that the bulk of hair on the top of the head decreases gradually, blending with the tapered back and sides.
  • It must be worn short enough that no hair touches the collar or extends below the top of the eyebrows.  A short all-over haircut may be acceptable to a minimum No 2 cut.
  • Extreme hairstyles, including mohawks, step-cuts, under-cuts, radical cuts, dramatic layering, tracks, mullets, dreadlocks, strands of hair or lines are not permitted under any circumstances.
  • Colouring or dyeing, tinting, bleaching or overuse of product are not permitted.
  • If the haircut is too short, the student may be asked to wear a hat until the length is appropriate.
  • When a student’s haircut does not meet school expectations, parents of those students will be contacted, and the students may be asked to leave school to rectify it. Students may return once their haircut adheres to school policy.

The Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal Pastoral Care and Wellbeing or the Head of Junior School, at their discretion, may make an exemption for a student from complying with the haircut policy.  Such grounds for exception may be due to the student’s health, religious beliefs or cultural grounds. Parents/caregivers of the student seeking an exemption are required to make an application in writing to the College Principal, Deputy Principal or Head of Junior School.

Thank you for supporting the high standards of the school and reminding your son when leaving home in the mornings of these routine uniform, presentation and hair regulations. We are very proud of our students and certainly want them to feel the same pride in representing themselves, their families and their college.

Academic Annexe

It’s lovely to see our 2023 graduates giving back to St Pius X by providing support to students in the Academic Annexe.  The Annexe is open for quiet study Monday – Thursday afternoons from 3:20 pm until 5:20 pm.
