Save The Date!

Book Week is next term!  During the week of 19th-23trd August (Week 5) we will again be holding our fabulous Book Week Parade.  The actual day of the parade is yet to be confirmed but keep your eye out for a Compass notice early next term.

Book Week Parade (K-10)

What: Students are encouraged to dress up as a book character.  There are many websites with ideas for easy book week costumes.  Each grade will have two winners.

Students’ costumes will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Is the costume accompanied with the book (or a photocopy of the book cover)?
  • Is the costume from a book?
  • Creativity – Was the costume made creatively, colourfully, and does it show personality?
  • Originality – Does the costume stand out from the rest?
  • Effort – Did the costume take time and effort?
  • Authenticity – How accurate and thorough is the costume?

Why: To immerse students in books and book characters and to celebrate the conclusion of Book Week.

When: During the week of 19th-23rd August.
