Kindergarten 2025

We held our first Kindergarten Orientation Meeting this morning for our new students and their families as they begin their journey to Big School. Thank you to Mrs Endacott and Mr McLean for their organisation of such an informative morning. Today's session begins our transition program for students commencing kindergarten in 2025 at our school.

We are still accepting enrolments for our program and encourage anyone wishing to join us to contact the school.

Congratulations Déchen

We congratulate Déchen Kandro for having her creative costume design chosen to be on display at the upcoming Schools Spectacular in Sydney in November.  What an amazing achievement Déchen!  Well done!

Out of Uniform Day Tomorrow (Thursday)

Our senior school leaders have organised an out of uniform day for tomorrow to raise funds for cancer research and to support families.  The day is in memory of one of our own ex-students, Dazelle Duma.  We are asking students and staff to wear yellow and/or white tomorrow and to bring along a donation if you can to support the NSW Cancer Council in their research and support for families.  Thanks in anticipation of your support. Please see further information below:

Uralla Rotary Club Donation

I would like to thank the Uralla Rotary Club for their kind donation of $5000 to our school to assist in funding upcoming school excursions for our students. The donation will be used to subsidise costs for students to travel to various locations and events.  The Uralla Rotary Club has provided this donation to the school to thank Mrs Taylor and her team of students who have been assisting with catering for the annual Rotary Art Show for many years. Thank you again to the members of the Uralla Rotary Club.

ACEN Grant

Congratulations to our Uralla Central School P&C for receiving a grant of $5000 from the ACEN Group to support our Senior School Sydney Excursion.  The ACEN group is overseeing the solar farm installation across our area. Thanks to our team for applying for the grant which will be used to pay for events while the students are away.

School Uniform

Our school requests all students wear correct school uniform every day.  We are committed to ensuring our students wear uniform correctly such as not wearing different coloured jumpers, shorts, etc.  If any family needs some assistance to purchase school uniforms for their children, please contact us at the school.  This is a confidential discussion where we will provide you with support to access a uniform for your child/children.  I thank families in advance for helping us to make sure our students are in their uniform each day.

School Development Day - Monday 22 July

The first day of next term is a school development day.  This is for staff only.  Our staff will be attending professional learning workshops in Armidale.  This will mean that the school will not be open on Monday 22 July as all staff will be working off-site.

Students return to school the next day on Tuesday 23 July.

Senior School Excursion to Sydney - Payments Are Due ASAP

There are still a number of students who have not paid their money for our upcoming excursion to Sydney.  These payments must be finalised before students start the excursion.  Please ensure all payments are finalised this week or immediately after the holidays. Please contact me at the school if you need some assistance with this.  Thanks for your help.

Library Teaching Position

We have been informed that our permanent library teacher position has been filled at Uralla Central School. I congratulate Mrs Rebecca Tobler on being offered this position by the Department of Education.  It will be great to have Bec back with us on a permanent basis. This is great news for our school!

Sporting Success Continues - League & Netball Teams

Our achievements in sport continues as our U16s league team and our Under 16s Netball A team have both qualified for CSKO State Finals in Dubbo next term.  A huge effort from both teams.   Well done to all students and thank you to Mr Auld and Ms Gregory for helping them to achieve these great results!

Congratulations also to our Opens Netball team - winners of the Central Schools Knockout gala day. Girls progress to State finals in the Opens for the second year in a row.

Congratulations to our U14s, two wins and a loss to finish second in their Gala Day.

Well done everyone!

New England Sings

Every two years, the New England Conservatorium of Music (NECOM) holds a combined choir event called New England Sings. The event brings students from across our region, together to form a mass choir which will perform in October. Our music teacher, Risa Matsui has commenced working with our group of interested students from Years 5 and 6 to learn the songs and prepare for the event. Students who are involved in New England Sings will bring home further information, including permission notes to attend combined rehearsals, in the first week of next term. Thank you to Miss Matsui for organising such a great opportunity for our students.

Happy Holidays!

This Friday will be the last day for Term 2.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for another successful term at our great school. I thank our staff for providing such wonderful learning opportunities for our students and for supporting them in their learning journey.  I wish all students and staff a great break and look forward to working with you all again next term.
