Year 3 Magpies and Numbats

As part of our HASS unit Civics & Citizenship, the Year 3s have been learning about the importance of rules, how important they are and the impact it has on our society.

The Year 3s were tasked with coming up with a rule which would be appropriate to implement within the classroom. Students had to present their rule to the class using strong modality words to convince the other students to vote for their rule.

There was a clear and easy choice, free time on Friday once they have finished all their work to a Year 3 standard.

Great job Year 3s on your amazing presentations!

Pre-Kindy - Little Adventurers

This term the Pre-Kindy children have been learning about how God created the world. In the beginning we read The Creation Story from the Bible and tried to imagine God making the whole world.

Since then, we have been learning about a different part of God’s creation each week and developing a sense of wonder and awe.

Sensory play and creative experiences are an important part of the Pre-Kindy Little Adventurers programme so our learning about the world is embedded through these types of play. The children are making various forms of art to represent each aspect of the creation story and have enjoyed lots of different sensory activities that encourage exploration and experimentation. We sometimes get very messy as well!

We have used leaves as paintbrushes, collaged day and night, observed the clouds, watched the rain (and hail!) pour down, made rainbows, finger painted the ocean and explored the animals that we share the Earth with.
