Level 2

Level  2

Wow! What a fabulous 2 weeks filled with fun and learning.

Reading/Writing:

In Reading and Writing we have been further exploring ways to make our writing persuasive. It has been exciting publishing our work in PowerPoint and using different fonts, backgrounds, images and colours. We have been working hard with our partners to make sure they are looking great before our Inquiry Expo on Tuesday the 25th of June. Take a sneak peek at our wonderful work so far:

Numeracy:

In Numeracy we have been looking at mass and capacity. It has been lots of fun exploring capacity in Sandland using a variety of containers and jugs. We also got to test out how different shaped jugs may have the same capacity!

Excursion to the Melbourne Museum:

Recount written by Madilyn:

“On Tuesday the 11th of June, the Grade 2’s went to the Melbourne Museum. Firstly, we went on a bus. It was a 45-minute drive to the Museum. Secondly, we got off the bus and ate our yummy snack. After eating, we entered the Museum and went inside the ‘Mini Model’ section. It was like the museum but super small! Next, we went to see the dinosaurs and insects. It was so fascinating and cool. The best thing was the Brontosaurus. Then, we went to the crystal and rock section. It was beautiful! But then we watched a volcano video which was scary. We then had our lunch while it was raining! Finally, we went to watch a 3D movie called ‘Museums Alive’. We had to wear silly glasses! After out cool excursion, we hopped on the bus and came home for a play on the playground!”

Lifesaving Victoria Incursion:

Lifesaving Victoria came to our school and taught us all about water safety! We were taught so many interesting things such as: Never swim alone, swim between the red and yellow flags, who can help us if we are in trouble in the water, safety signs, lifejacket safety, how to identify and avoid dangers and being SunSmart. Take a look at the photos below!
