From the Acting Principal
What a busy 3 weeks it has been for me as Acting Principal! I truly underestimated all the hard work and effort Rachael puts in as the Principal of Ridgeview.
Last week we had the Year 4-6 go on camp at MERC, and the Year 0-3 have EOTC days at school. Lots of fun was had by all.
I would like to give a huge thank you to the parents/adults who came on camp - James, Sabrina, Tina and Phil. We really appreciated you taking the time to come and support the children at camp.
Upcoming Events:
Wednesday 12 June - 9 children will be attending the interschool cross country at Coatesville School.
Thursday 13 June - AJHS Experience Day for our Year 6 students. We will be travelling to and from AJHS by bus/van provided by the school. This is a chance for the students to see where they will be going next year and experience some of the things they will be doing. Even if your child will not be attending AJHS next year, this is still a good opportunity.
Week 8 - Life Education
Every year we are lucky to get visited by Harold and the Life Education caravan. This year they will be visiting us from Tuesday 16 - Thursday 18 June. The cost is $8.50 per child.
Matariki Breakfast - Thursday 27 June @ 8am
We would like to invite our community whanau to come and celebrate Matariki with us by joining us for a breakfast. More details to come.
School will be closed on Friday 28 June for the Matariki Holiday.
Pink Shirt Day
Pink shirt day was held on Friday 24 May. Everyone came dressed in pink or red to support the cause.
Outdoor Paint/Lids
We are needing some outdoor paint so we can paint the white concrete wall for our Hapori Friday. If you have any left over paint, please get in touch!
We are also looking for lots of different shapes
and size lids. Please start collecting them as we are wanting to make a curtain to hang in our sensory area.
Tissues and Plasters
If you are out shopping and notice a good bargain on tissues and plasters, please remember our school. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, especially with the winter season upon us. Please drop them off to Kalene at the office.
Absentees
Remember to contact the school office if your child/ren will not be attending school for the day. You can contact by phone or email. It is important that we have this information.
Playing on school grounds after school
If your child wants to play at school before 4.15pm and is not in after-school care, then they will need a parent to accompany them.
Changes to Contact details.
Please inform the office if any changes have been made to your contact details - address/phone numbers/emails/emergency details. It is important that this information is kept up to date. Any changes please let Kalene know.
Out of School Care
Please make sure that you book your child into Before and After School Care by either emailing office@ridgeview.school.nz or phoning the school on 027 593 5963.
Spare Clothes
Winter is upon us and so is the wet weather. Please can you make sure that your child has a spare set of clothes in their bag - it does not have to be school uniform. This is for all children.
Class Dojo
Class Dojo is an app that we use at school as one way to connect with families. Teacher use the app to send up to day info on activities their class is doing. We share information and updates. If you don't have it please let your child's teacher know so they can add you to the list.
