Hello everyone,

I would like to highlight a new series of books that have been added to the library. They are the Tales from the Pitch series.

Each of these 24 fast-moving reads focuses on one up-and-coming football superstar, players who are often still to reach the summit of their career. From Ronaldo to Messi, these biographies cover the full range of football both in Europe and beyond. The players are from all walks of life and have faced failure, injury and rejection, to ultimately make their dreams come true.

Tales from the Pitch series is great for encouraging even the most reluctant reader. These books offer strong stories and lots of football.

So meet the fresh young talent behind the iconic tackles and goals and find out what makes each of these players so special.

These books are also Dyslexia friendly.

Next Term we have many wonderful events happening. There will be a Scholastic Book Fair commencing Monday 5th August. There will be an Author visit, Book Week dress Up Day, Books made by the students, Competitions, a Reading Challenge and lots, lots more.

There will be some calls for volunteers to help out here and there, so if you think you can spare an hour or so with some of these events, it would be very much appreciated.

As I write this, it is pouring with rain and very windy. Let’s hope the weather during the upcoming school holidays is not so wild.
