Junior AFL Team Dominates Inaugural QGSSSA Campaign
In the first official season of the QGSSSA Junior AFL competition, our Junior AFL team has made a notable debut, achieving a flawless record in the Junior B division. Not only did the team win every match, but they also delivered a near-perfect defensive performance, keeping all but one opponent scoreless throughout the season. The sole points conceded came in a tightly contested match against St Margaret’s, who managed just two points.
This remarkable season highlights Clayfield College’s seamless transition into AFL, a sport in which the program has shown immediate success. With 19 junior players taking up the challenge, the team’s performance has exceeded expectations, demonstrating a natural aptitude for the game and setting a strong foundation for future campaigns.
From their first game, the Clayfield players showcased skill, strategy, and teamwork that belied their relative inexperience. Under the guidance of WASH Performance, the team has not only excelled on the field but also cultivated a love for AFL among the students.
Congratulations to the Junior AFL team for their historic and dominant season. Your achievements are an inspiration to your peers and a testament to the power of teamwork Clayfield College Sport looks forward to building on this incredible foundation and expanding its presence in AFL competitions.
