This year, our Primary School Sport Program has been a huge success and has had many different sports on offer! The year saw a lot of growth and unforgettable moments. Although the competitions were tough, we are very proud of all our athletes.
We participated in a variety of events, including Swimming, Cross Country, Touch Football, Gymnastics, Basketball, Aquathlon, and Cricket. Each sport provided its own challenges and rewards, helping our athletes develop valuable skills while building true sportsmanship.
Swimming made a big splash this year. We competed in the Interhouse Competition, Andrews Cup and Britton Shield events. We saw some standout performances in the relay races, where teamwork and determination shone brightly. The energy was high, and our swimmers demonstrated exceptional skill and spirit.
Cross Country was all about endurance, and we all ran with determination and focus. We pushed ourselves to do our best. The heat didn’t slow anyone down, and our athletes proved their resilience. Students ran many kilometres to represent their Houses and although it was very hot, many of us had a great time. Snow cones helped us through the heat and water was never short!
Basketball also saw significant growth, with our young team showing improvement in every game. Their commitment to training and developing skills like agility, layups, and three-pointers was evident throughout the season.
Another of the standout moments of the year was the Aquathlon, where we made history by finishing in top spots - many times even taking home gold! This year marked a turning point, as our athletes achieved results we had only dreamed of in previous years!
We put in a lot of hard work during early morning and after-school training sessions, focusing on skill development, fitness, and teamwork. The support of our dedicated coaches and staff was key in helping each of us reach our full potential and compete at our highest level.
A special thank you to Miss Lewin for her unwavering leadership, which played a pivotal role in our success! We also appreciate our coaches, teachers, and support staff who work tirelessly to ensure that the Sports Program was a triumphing success.
Overall, 2024 has been an incredible year for our Primary School Sport Program. With continued hard work and a focus on great teamwork, we look forward to even more success in the future and we look forward to growing in the coming years and continuing to support our students in their athletic endeavours. Go Clayfield!
