Kris Kringle & Class Party Day

We’re excited to celebrate the end of the school year with our Class Party Day on the 18th of December! As part of the festivities, we’ll have a Kris Kringle gift exchange. Students are invited to bring a gender-neutral present, valued at a maximum of $15, to place under the class tree. Gifts will be exchanged and opened during the celebrations.

To make the day even more special, we’re asking families to bring a plate of food to share. Your teacher will be in touch to let you know whether your child has been allocated a sweet or savory plate, so we can enjoy a delicious spread of treats together. Thank you for helping us make this a fun and festive occasion for everyone!

Carols on the Lawn

Get ready to celebrate the festive season with our much-anticipated Carols on the Lawn! Join us for a magical evening of music, joy, and community spirit as our talented students perform a selection of holiday classics. Bring along your picnic blankets, enjoy the cheerful atmosphere, and sing along to your favourite carols under the stars. We look forward to seeing you there!

Library Book Returns & Reading Resources

A friendly reminder to please return all library books as soon as possible so we can complete our stocktake. While library borrowing will close after the 29th of November, home reading can continue using books from home or your local library.

To keep the reading momentum going, here are some great online resources your children can access:

  • World Book Online
World Book Onlineoffers a wide range of eBooks for children to explore.
  • Cengage PM Online Readers
Cengage PM Onlineis ideal for students still on reading levels, providing engaging content tailored to their needs.
  • Literacy Pro Library (Years 3–6)
Literacy Pro Libraryis a fantastic tool for older students, packed with exciting books to discover.

We encourage families to explore these options and keep the love of reading alive during this time!

Some things the Year Three students have been doing this week are:

Maths - Board Game Design

Our students are putting their creativity and problem-solving skills to work as they design their own board games! Some games incorporate elements of chance, rewards, consequences, physical activity, and maths question challenges, this maths investigation combines fun and learning in a unique way. Next week, the students will bring their games to life and enjoy playing them with their classmates. It's a fantastic opportunity for collaboration, critical thinking, and, of course, plenty of maths practice!

Writing - Create Your Own Newspaper

This week, our budding journalists are diving into the exciting world of newspaper writing! They’re crafting their very own newspapers, featuring breaking news articles, game reviews, a "War on Waste" piece, natural disaster reports, sports highlights, weather forecasts, and even creative ads and selling pages. This project allows students to explore different writing styles, share their interests, and develop their creativity. We can’t wait to see their imaginative newspapers come to life!
