This term has been flying by - how are we already at the end of week 8?
Grade 1 and 2 students had their final Footsteps lesson last week. Over the weeks they learnt five different dances, which we are sure you would have seen performed at home.
Grade 1 and 2s have started practising their Christmas Carol for our Christmas on the Lawn event coming up. If you would like to help your child practise singing their song (and also get into the festive season) you can access the songs on these links:

The Grade 2 students had a fantastic time at their much-anticipated sleepover! After being dropped off, they impressed everyone by making their beds and setting up for the night with great enthusiasm.
The evening’s highlight was Tim-credible, who dazzled the students with his incredible magic show. From human sized bubbles to card tricks, Tim’s performance had everyone amazed. His dragon companion also made an appearance, providing plenty of laughs and entertainment.
In the morning, the students did a wonderful job packing up their belongings and displayed excellent manners and patience during breakfast as food was served.
A big congratulations to all the students for their outstanding efforts and behaviour throughout the sleepover. We’re sure they’ll enjoy a well-deserved rest on Friday night!

During the week classes have been returning library books and take home readers for end of year counting. If your child has any extra reader books at home or any library books that to be returned, please ensure they do so as soon as possible.
Since there are no more take home readers for the rest of the year students can bring a “good fit book” of their choice from home for silent reading each day. Books must be clearly named so they do not lose it.
If your child requires extra reading material at home, they can access levelled PM readers online on https://app.pmecollection.com.au/. Please let your classroom teacher know if you require login details for your child.
If your child is on Literacy Pro, they can continue reading books of their own and accessing the website for any quizzes of books they have read.
For Grade 2 students, there will be a READO reading sheet going home at the start of next week. This sheet is like a bingo sheet but with reading challenges. The students are to complete this rather than doing their regular home reading sheet. Read the instructions on the sheet for more information.
We have a Christmas Pantomime incursion coming up next week on Friday 6th December. Please ensure to sign permission and make a payment on Compass by Thursday 5th December.
The Vermont Views magazine is available for purchase for $15. This is a great keepsake of 'the year that was' and a fun way to track your child's journey through their school years. The magazine has every 2024 class included, special items from the specialist subjects, and a reflection from the student leaders and the Principals.
Orders can now be placed through the Compass Parent Portal, under the Shop Menu. To access the Shop Menu from the app, click the ‘More’ button at bottom right of screen. Then click on the 'Shop' tile.
If you would like to purchase a copy, you will need to do it before it orders close on Friday 6th of December 2024.
On Thursday 12th December our annual Christmas on the Lawn will be taking place. It will be on the school's little oval, commencing at 4:30pm and finishing at 5:30pm. Bring a picnic rug, your own snacks and soft drinks to enjoy the show! Look out for more details.
Please notify your child’s classroom teacher via email and in advance if your children will not be attending the last weeks of school due to family holidays etc. This helps us plan our activities for the rest of the term. This will also need to be updated in Compass.
