There may be some changes to this before the end of the year, but as of now this is our plan and we are so excited for our new teams and what they will bring to the students of Vermont Primary School in 2025.

Parking, Kiss&Go Zones and driver behaviour

Unfortunately, the parking and driving of some motorists at pick up and drop off time continues to be an issue. During the last week, we have had several complaints from the school community about unsafe behaviours and extremely questionable driving. Sadly, Ian our crossing supervisor was almost run over last week by someone who completely disregarded the crossing signs. I cannot stress enough how important it is for people to follow the road rules and to drive with caution. I have spoken with the local council and the police about the things we are seeing, and they have assured me that they are going to do more frequent patrols and will be issuing fines to anyone they see doing the wrong thing.

For the safety of our students, staff and parents I urge people who drive to and from school to drive mindfully and safely. If you have concerns around the road use, please understand this is not the schools responsibility to fix. Please contact the council or local police (as we have been doing).

School Council Thanks

I would like to thank the members of the 2024 School Council for all their work, effort and commitment. This week, we had our final meeting of the year, and were able to reflect on a years worth of great work. For those of you who are interested, school council nominations happen each year, so look out for information about that early in Term 1, 2025
