Dear parents and carers,

 

As we approach the end of 2024, it’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by. This year has been a testament to the strength of our school community, and I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the families of Wonga Park Primary School. Your unwavering support, active involvement, and genuine partnership in learning have made a profound difference in the lives of our students. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside you, watching your children grow, learn, and thrive.

Statement of Values and School Philosophy Policy

Our Statement of Values and School Philosophy Policy has been reviewed and was endorsed by School Council in December. The purpose of this policy is to outline the values of our school community and explain the vision, mission and objectives of our school. You can access this policy by clicking on this link.

 

First Aid Policy

Our First Aid Policy has been updated. The purpose of this policy is to ensure the school community understands our school’s approach to first aid for students. You can access this policy by clicking on this link.

 

Camps and Excursions Policy

Our Camps and Excursions Policy has been updated. The purpose of this policy is to explain to our school community the processes and procedures Wonga Park Primary School will use when planning and conducting camps, excursions and adventure activities for students.  You can access this policy by clicking on this link.

 

Water Safety Promotion 

With summer underway, we encourage schools to help promote the critical importance of water safety. Please see below regarding opportunities to support water safety with your children.

VICSWIM program

VICSWIM is a 5-day intensive learn to swim and water safety program for children aged 4 to 12 years. 

The Victorian Government subsidises the program. Aquatics and Recreation Victoria runs it. You can share the below details about the program with your school community. Program details

Dates: Monday 6 January to Friday 10 January, Monday 13 January to Friday 17 January, Monday 20 January to Friday 24 January 

Time: 5 lessons, 30 minutes each 

Location: more than 170 pools, beaches and waterways across the state. To find your nearest location, refer to VICSWIM 2025 venues  

Cost: $35 per child for the week.

Swim City

Life Saving Victoria’s Swim City  is a free online game-based experience where children can learn about water safety from animated characters, Fin, Pod and Splash.  

Swim City is designed to complement swimming lessons.
