Reach Programs
To close off the year the junior school, the Wellbeing Team have organised REACH to conduct workshops for our year 7 and 8 students.
The program is called Connection and encourages empathy and support of authentic, positive expression. Students will be encouraged to reflect on their first years at secondary school and look at ways to further develop these skills.
Reach secondary school workshops provide students with positive and relevant strategies and skills they can apply at school and to their everyday lives.
Reports and Assessments
As we are nearing the end of the year it is very important that all students complete any outstanding work and either upload this to Compass or hand into your teacher. If you are absent, please send through any medical certificates and remember that assessment tasks need to be completed as these will appear on your end-of-year report.
We encourage all students to act positively and respectfully in all classes and to ensure that full school uniform is to be worn at all times.
A reminder to all students that diaries must be in all classes, every session to ensure all key tasks are recorded in the last 5 minutes of class time. We look forward to celebrating your improvements since the start of term.
Tasmania Camp
All staff and students had a great time on the trip to Tasmania. New friendships were formed with cultural experiences had at MONA on the first day. Students got to discover the famous Tahune AirWalk, an elevated walkway 30 metres above the forest floor, and 50 metres above the Huon River with spectacular views of the World Heritage Area. Day 3 had them travelling to the Port Arthur Historic Site. Here they heard stories of life at Port Arthur and considered whether the settlement was a place of punishment, reform, or both, during a visit to the Waterfront, the Penitentiary Precinct, the Hospital and the Separate Prison. They have also been on a Ghost tour as well as visiting Mount Wellington.
Absences: Please log absence on Compass or call Jenny Richards on 9091 8136
For all absences for medical reasons please submit a medical certificate to Junior School, this ensures the attendance percentage will be approved.
All family holidays during term time are unapproved school absences.
Please fill in the attached form if this is applicable to your family and update Compass absence details accordingly. https://forms.office.com/r/q7nnA3nqcD
Students are responsible for catching up on any missed work and assessments and will be required to stay after school to ensure this work is completed.
