Secondary
Dear Families
Our 2025 Student Representative Council (SRC) made an impressive start to their tenure in leading and representing Secondary students this week. At their leadership development day on Tuesday, the SRC worked through a series of workshops to explore how to lead with integrity and have a positive impact next year. In the new year, they will finalise a vision that is ambitious yet authentic, in keeping with the spirit of the College founders and in alignment with the College mission statement to be people of competence, conscience and compassion who are committed to God and the service of others. Thank you to Mr Smith, Assistant Deputy Principal – Year 11, for his coordination of the leadership day, to Mr Mahon, Mr Sims and David Castallenali from Levitate Learning for facilitating engaging workshops on the day, and to the staff coordinators who will work closely with each student leader as a mentor throughout next year.
Welcome back to our Year 9 Outdoor Education students who enjoyed a night at Rottnest this week as part of their course. Thank you to Mr Bowen for his coordination of the camp, and to the staff members to accompanied him: Mr Chaney, Miss Basile, Miss Brindley, Miss Bollam, Ms Toleman, Mr Roberts and Mr Shaw. Congratulations to our Magis students who demonstrated great passion and knowledge at their Personal Projects Exhibition yesterday; their presentations were impressive! Also, to Year 10 Drama students for their creative and engaging performances at Tuesday’s Drama Night.
Presentation Evening: Thursday, 28 November

Guests are to be seated by 6:45pm for a 7pm start.
Students who are attending as members of the audience are to wear their summer uniform, whilst all award winners are required to wear the formal winter uniform, including blazer, shirt, tie and tights for girls. Other College requirements regarding grooming are to be adhered to.

Year 10 Outdoor Education Camp
In Year 10, Outdoor Education is an elective course that provides opportunities for our students to engage in good stewardship, collaboration and leadership, as well as adventure and camp learning. Last week, students spent four days and three nights in the Margaret River region (Karridale), where they engaged in activities such as abseiling, the vertical challenge on the treetops, hiking, and general camping rigour. To see our students flourish in such an environment is a wonderful thing to be a part of. Not only are they participating in Outdoor Education culture, but they can also relax and take a break from the pressures that academic and electronic life bring. This will no doubt stand them in good stead for their current exam period as a chance to reset before they push forward.
A huge thank you to our providers, Outdoor Education Group, who continue to foster positive environmental experiences for our teenagers to learn, reflect and grow from. Also, thank you to our teaching staff who attended. Miss Brindley, Mrs Davila, and Miss Bollam, who, as group leaders, were able to form special bonds with their students as a result of this more relaxed setting. Mr Mitchell was kind enough to float between groups and drive the bus for pick-up and drop-off points as required. Our students were a dream, and they conducted themselves in a manner that helped make this experience educational and fun for all.

College Visual Arts Exhibition People’s Choice Award
Throughout the duration of the College Visual Arts Exhibition, visitors were encouraged to vote for their favourite artwork. Today at the Year 11s final assembly, this year’s People’s Choice Award winner was announced. Congratulations to Year 11 Student Catherine Mundy who won the People’s Choice Award for her pencil drawing Beneath the Surface. In her artwork Cat explores the emotional layers and intricacies of family relationships through a dynamic layering of colours, when viewed through a red and blue lens, transforms to the viewer.
