What is your leadership portfolio?

Sporting Co-Curricular Prefect

What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?

I’m most excited about fostering a culture of enthusiasm and teamwork within the sports community at the college. I want to make sports inclusive and accessible for everyone, regardless of skill level. This year, I hope to support all athletes and inspire students to get involved, not just for the competition, but for the joy and camaraderie that sports bring especially in the St Patricks Community.

What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?

Others may be surprised to know that I used to play violin, although I’m not the musical type, I tried my best, participating in the string ensemble during Years 5, 6, and 7. It was a unique experience that taught me a lot about discipline and teamwork, even outside of sports.

What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?

Let it All Work Out by Lil Wayne. The song speaks to overcoming challenges and trusting that things will eventually fall into place, which resonates with me as I balance my studies, leadership responsibilities, and personal goals.

Student Wellbeing Prefect

What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?

Over the next 12 months I'm excited to develop new relationships across the student body at the college. Through initiatives and social events, I want to establish myself as a person students can confide in whilst also having a laugh. This year there is a strong emphasis on boosting the inclusivity at the school as I am excited to contribute to the comradery here at St Pat’s. I want to raise awareness about key issues regarding our mental wellbeing, as my goal is to bring the boys closer together, whilst also encouraging positive conversations that can make a difference to somebody's day.

What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?

One thing many people don't know about me is that when I was younger, I used to love playing the bass guitar. I was part of my primary school band, and it was one of my favourite past times. It was enjoyable to learn something new, whilst also being an exciting thing to display during family events.

What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?

Don't stop me now by Queen emulates a person's ability to break down barriers in life and truly enjoy the moment. I try to employ this mindset in my daily life, as I strive to spread positivity and bring the best out of any situation. The title of this song provokes a sense of determination, as if you have a goal in mind don't fear the potential setbacks and grasp it with both hands.

What is your leadership portfolio?

Cultural Co-Curricular Prefect

What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?

Throughout the next year as prefect, I think I am most excited about working with the other boys in the prefect team and my peers in other year groups to build up the music, art, debating and drama throughout the school. I want it to become a larger part of student life. I would like to encourage boys to try new things and stick with it throughout their schooling life to help them become the best person they can be, not only in their co-curricular but throughout their time at SPC.

What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?

Something that others may be surprised to know is that my background is quite mixed. From my Mum’s side, she was born in Uruguay, but still mixed with some Brazilian. Her grandfather was also French, and her grandmother was Italian. My dad was born here and my Nonno and Nonna are from Calabria in Italy.

What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?

Mahler Symphony no. 2. This piece explores life, death and resurrection and while I am not going through those things right now it motivates me to get through the hard times in my life knowing that it will get better, and that I can make it better, whether it be through my school, social or music life. It is about looking to the positive side of life and not dwelling on the darkness so that we can enjoy our time here on Earth.

What is your leadership portfolio?

Learning and Technology Prefect

What are you most excited about in your leadership portfolio?

As prefect, what I am most excited about for the next year is working toward a more sustainable and enjoyable learning experience for all students. Through interaction with the various year groups, as well as conversation with members of staff from all faculties, I am excited at the prospect of gathering insight from all corners of the College to bring change to the way that we, as students, can learn and develop at SPC.

What is something about you that others may be surprised to know?

One thing that others may be surprised to learn about me is that I can speak another language. Coming from a Thai background, I attended classes for more than 5 years during primary school, allowing me to actively converse with my mother and relatives abroad easily.

What would be a good theme song for your life? Why?

Self by Khalid. This song resonates with me as it explores the struggles that the artist faced during his early music career, and his ability to overcome them. It shows that the possibilities set before us are determined by our ability to prevail over the adversity that we face, and that such a mindset can often lead us to the fate that we ultimately desire.

Commendation Awards

I was delighted to present to the assembly last Friday six boys who qualified for a Commendation Certificate. The awarding of a Commendation Certificate reflects a consistent level of application or improvement by a student over a period of time. The students have achieved this award as the result of consistent excellent work, a positive attitude to their studies, displaying admirable leadership qualities and excellent behaviour over the course of the last 12 months.
