Another Thriving Fortnight at ACPS

It's been another thriving fortnight at Andersons Creek Primary School. Starting right at the beginning I cannot thank our ACPS Trivia organisers enough for putting together such a brilliant night for us all to enjoy. This event showcased the incredible sense of community we have at ACPS as we came together to connect and to raise money for continual upgrades to our school. In addition to thanking our organisers I would really like to thank our businesses who donated to our silent auction and all of our parents who came out to support the night.

We also witnessed more outstanding sporting achievements this fortnight with Karlie, Anna, and Gracie representing the school with distinction at the EMR athletics, all 3 girls performed outstandingly and I'm delighted to share that Gracie has made it through to State Athletics next week. Let's all wish her the best of luck as she competes on the state level. Our Grade 3/4 Girls Hooptime team also has reason to celebrate, as they've advanced to the State Finals to be held later this year. This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the excellent coaching they've received. We are immensely proud of their success and look forward to cheering them on in the State Finals.

This week was marked by some significant milestones for our students. Our Prep students had their first big excursion as they caught the bus for a day out at Edendale Farm. It filled me with joy to see their excited faces while I waved them off as the bus pulled away from the front of the school.

Our Grade 2 students have had a huge week with what was effectively their first ever school camp. We had an unforgettable afternoon which started with a teddy bear picnic, moved onto a silent disco, pizza dinner, ice-cream and the penultimate event the Grade 2 sleepover. I want to extend my absolute gratitude to the P-2 Teaching Team for making these experiences special for our students. The thought, care and work they put into this event shows just how much they care for our kids and just how lucky we are at ACPS to have the staff we do.

World Teachers Day

Happy World Teachers Day to all the teachers that make up our brilliant team here at ACPS. It takes a special person to be a teacher but every adult has a favourite one that they remember from their schooling. Someone that cared, listened, believed in them, inspired them, checked in with them, went the extra mile to help them or to make their lessons enjoyable. We all appreciate you and are grateful for the impact you have on our students.

MORE BIG NEWS!!!

I'm thrilled to announce the breaking news of the week...

ACPS have just secured the rights to "Shrek The Musical Jr." which will be our 2024 Production. This production, produced by ACPS and directed by Gavin Andrews, promises to be a showstopper. Those who were fortunate enough to be involved in or witness the "Lion King" production last year know just how amazing this news is for our school. We are so lucky to have Gavin in our parent community and so grateful for the generosity of his time and expertise to provide learning experiences in the Performing Arts for our students that are beyond that of a normal school. We're in for a real treat, and I can't wait to see the incredible talents of our students shine on stage at the end of Term 2 2024.

Have a lovely weekend.
