What is your role at Concord School?

Year 11C Teacher

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School:  I like to get in early (around 8) to plan for the day, check emails etc and be ready to greet the students just before 9.  

Then it's into the working day. On Wednesday's I assist in the VET Horticulture program and on Thursday's my grade (11C) go to the Collingwood Children's Farm as part of the WRS scheme

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

Working with all the wonderful students and staff 

Favourite Food:  Pasta

Favourite Movie/TV Show:  Ferris Bueller/Black Books

Favourite music:  The Beatles

Things I dislike the most:  When I forget names (I’ve been learning lots in my new job😊)

Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You: I can make my ears squeak (totally useless skill)

Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete: Aston Villa/Pele

What is your role at Concord School?

Upper Primary Teacher, UPH

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School: On a bright morning, I enjoy walking to work, soaking in that much-needed vitamin D to set my day. I start the day by warmly welcoming my students and outlining our plans. We then dive into lessons, keeping things lively with interactive activities and group discussions. Snacks and lunch breaks are when we engage in lighter conversations, helping us connect beyond the lessons. We finish the day by reflecting on what we've achieved together. When the bell rings, I feel fulfilled, knowing that I've shared knowledge and joy, making each day in the classroom rewarding

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

Working in an environment where I could engage with and inspire children to learn has been my dream job, and I am fortunate to have been given the opportunity to become a Graduate Teacher at Concord School

What is your role at Concord School?

9/10D Classroom Teacher 

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School: I usually come to work a bit earlier to get ready for the day. A day in 9/10 is quite busy, our timetable is different every day and there is a lot happening in the section. 

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

I enjoy working with the staff, everyone is very welcoming, and the school provide a lot of different experiences for students.

Favourite music: Taylor Swift

Things I dislike the most: Flies!

My family because I haven’t seen them for a long time and I miss their cooking.

Uniform Shop

Concord School Uniform Shop will continue to operate throughout the term by appointment only if a fitting is required.  We will continue taking orders via phone/email/hand delivered form.

 

All orders will be sent home with your child. If there are any issues with the order such as sizing, we will be happy to provide an exchange. Any exchanges must be made completed within 1 month of purchasing and proof of purchase must be shown.

Attention Parents/Carers of Secondary School Students.

When your child outgrows their Secondary School uniform, please consider donating it back to the school if they are in good condition. 

 

Your child may pass these items on to the staff at the Bundoora Campus Office.

My Time

My Time is a free resource for parents/carers of children with a disability. It is a support group which allows parents/carers to come together to discuss and share their experiences.

 

Children are also welcome at MyTime. A play leader will engage children in meaningful play nearby in a playgroup, while parents can unwind and enjoy the sessions.

Irabina is excited to announce the launch of our new Community Support Services.This service has been established to support NDIS-funded individuals living with a disability and their families to: boost independent living-skills, promote meaningful community involvement and have a tonne of fun!The Community Support Team are proud to offer tailored-support and will work with individuals and their families to design their own support programs that suit their individual needs.Taking part in a Community Support Program also means access to a range of specialist supports, including: Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Paediatricians and Behavioural Practitioners.Here are a few areas where we can offer support:   

  • School: transitioning to and from school, support in the school setting. 
  • Special Events: sporting events, concerts, musicals etc.
  • Home: Self-care, independent living-skills (cooking, cleaning, eating, organising etc.)
  • Camping Trips
  • Going to the shops: grocery shopping, buying clothes, buying gifts, exploring the shopping centre and building meaningful community relationships.
  • Holidays: theme parks, the beach, camping trips and other holidays/getaways.
  • Community Parks
  • In-Centre Skills Hub (this is where group activities and independent living-skills will be practiced and supported).

We are Livin Social Adventures!  A Disability Support business offering supported activities and adventures for young people (16-35) with mild to moderate disabilities and mental health conditions. 

Our primary goal is to help young people build friendships, explore new activities and get the skills they need to live and work independently.

Popular activities include: Bowling, Laser tag, Movies, Gym Fridays, Aquarium and much more!

For any students who have NDIS funding, they are able to claim our support costs through their NDIS plan as long as it's self managed or plan managed. We also offer pick up and drop off for anyone living within 20km of Eltham which we have found to be extremely helpful for busy parents.
