 Term 4

Teaching and Learning Week 2

Welcome back to our final term for 2023! It is hard to believe we are already two weeks into Term 4 with so many great experiences and opportunities already across the school.

Last week, our Secondary Year 9/10 students took off for their surf camp at Anglesea. They stayed in cabins with their friends and experienced all the exciting and challenging activities that camp has to offer including the vertical wall, giant swing and of course, surfing. Many students who had never surfed before had a go, and were able to catch some waves on their board with some students even able to stand up! Experiences like this allow for students to develop their social skills and explore, extend and enrich their learning in different ways.

Congratulations to our Upper Primary classes who recently entered the ‘Wonderful Worms’ competition run by Soil Week Australia and won a $100 prize! The competition required students to talk about how wonderful worms are for the environment and us all. Last term, Upper Primary were learning about plants and how they grow. Students made a worm farm at school that will produce compost to help our plants grow. Please watch the video showing all the wonderful things students learnt about worms:

The race was on last week, as the Secondary 7/8 students raced around the school as part of the Concord Amazing Race! Students followed a series of clues and at each location had to participate in an activity where they would then receive their next clue. There were also detours and road blocks along the way to add further challenges! The Amazing Race kicked off the students’ learning about location in Maths in a fun and exciting way, while also developing essential communication and teamwork skills.

Term 4 Curriculum Days

The next Curriculum Day is on Monday 30th October where staff will participate in day two of the Berry Street Education Model training.
