Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

As we come close to the end of another academic year at Mordialloc College for our senior students we are again proud to celebrate the wonderful relationships and successes we experience in our Senior School. Our Year 12 VCE and Vocational Major students finished their school studies at the end of last term, with many moving into full time apprenticeships, traineeships and employment already and some preparing to enter into the next phase of studying in 2024.

We are reaching the Senior School exam period, with VCAA languages and performance exams already underway and the major VCE exams starting on Tuesday 24 October with English. Year 10 and 11 students will embark on their exams from Wednesday 8 November. All students are reminded to read the exams navigator and ensure they arrive with plenty of time and all the necessary materials. Please note that there are interruptions on the Frankston train line during the exam period. Families should visit ptv.vic.gov.au/frankstondisruptions, or call 1800 800 007 for up-to-date information on service changes.

Recently our Year 12 Vocational Major students and the MCSC Promotions and Fundraising Committee held a footy colours day. They raised just under $600 in gold coin donations which will be donated to charities who work towards supporting disadvantaged mothers and children as well as aiming to eliminate homelessness in Melbourne.

We are preparing to say goodbye and good luck to the Class of 2023 next week, with a final whole school assembly on Tuesday. For many of us, it will be a time of very mixed emotions. As always, we will be sad to see them go, but incredibly proud of their achievements.

Staff and students enjoyed the Year 12 Formal in the final weeks of Term 3, before students completed practice exams. It was a night of celebration and fun. We look forward to further celebrations at the Valedictory after the VCAA exams have finished.

To celebrate the last week of Year 12 content our VM and VCE students dressed as their ‘future selves’!

I wish the Class of 2023 all the very best for the future and hope they keep in contact with us at Mordialloc College so that we can share in their future successes, of which I have no doubt there will be many.

The 2024 Headstart program begins on Monday 20 November and we are anticipating a positive start for all our students in Senior School.

Congratulations to all students who have tried hard to achieve their personal best in any aspect of life throughout 2023, keep going, you are almost there. I look forward to working with you all again in 2024.
