Parents & Friends Association

Fun Run

On Sunday 12 November from 8:30am, we will be holding the School 5km Fun Run's Splash & Dash, as a major fundraising event, money raised will go to many needed school supplies and upgrades.

It will be a huge water-fueled mess and is undoubtedly one of the most exciting days on our College calendar. This will be a Free Event for everyone at any age to enjoy!!!! You can run, walk, skip or dance the course, as long as you are having fun!

Warm-up will be held from 9:00am and the Fun Run even will start at 9:30am! We strongly suggest any serious runners make their way to the start line early so they can be among the first group to enter the course. We will be sending runners and participants out in waves. Prams are permitted on the course, but will be required to start at the rear of the group.

If you do not want to participate in the Fun Run, you can come along and cheer on your friends.

How Does My Child Fundraise?

Firstly, go to www.schoolfunrun.com.au and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundraising revolves around this page. Students who raise just $10 will be able to choose a prize! The more they raise, the better their reward – don’t forget to check these out in the sponsorship form! The great thing about online fundraising is that you can share the link to your child’s profile with friends and family via email, SMS and Social Media.

IF WE ALL RAISE $10,000.00 AND ABOVE A TEACHER WILL BE SLIMED!!!

Online Fundraising

The easiest way to help your child raise money is through online fundraising, where students raise an average of $120. On top of raising more money, it’s also safer and easier than door-knocking and you don’t have to worry about handling money! To start fundraising online, go to your student profile page at www.schoolfunrun.com.au and share your online fundraising link.

Competition Time

The top fundraising student from Fairview, Cumberland and Dunhelen will win an individual prize!

Getting Involved

Not only can you support the school and students with your sponsorship – but you can join in on the fun! We would love to welcome parents and extended family members to attend the Family day FUN! There will be a Free Fun Zone activities area which will be run by Kelly Sports, Aitken Colleges' holiday program provider.

Please note, it is cash only on the day for face painting and petting zoo. There will also be a coffee van, ice cream and a sausage sizzle to purchase.

At the completion of the run, you will receive a bottle of water and a Berri Quelch Frozen Fruit Stick.

Ordering Prizes – ALL PRIZES MUST BE ORDERED ONLINE

Prizes MUST be ordered between 10 November and 14 November. Simply visit www.schoolfunrun.com.au to create/log into your Profile Page between these dates. Then click on the ‘CLAIM YOUR PRIZE’ button and follow the prompts. If you have any questions, please contact the School Fun Run team on 1800 FUN RUN and they will gladly assist.

Fairview Dance Party

Fairview students, I hope you have your dance shoes ready!

The Fairview Dance Party is 16 November from 6.00pm - 7.30pm. For those new to the school or unfamiliar with this event, the Parents and Friends Association hold a dance party for Fairview students only. This is supervised by staff and the Committee and school community volunteers. It is a fabulous evening where the kids get to hang out with their friends and dance to some really great music. More information to follow.

If you would like to volunteer to help at either of these events please email pandf@aitkencollege.edu.au.

Pre-loved Uniform Donations

If you have Aitken College uniform items at home that are no longer in use and are in wearable condition, we would love to have them. The Parents and Friends Association clean and iron the donated uniform items and re-sell them at our quarterly Pre-loved Uniform Sales with all the funds going back to the Parents and Friends Association fundraising account. The items can be dropped off in our clothing bin near the main Reception. Please remember that the items need to be in a wearable condition, and we do not have a market for re-sale on Aitken socks.
