RUOK? Day
Thursday this week was RUOK? Day. Students came to school wearing a splash of yellow and participated in a few activities that showed the importance of relationship building. "Are you ok?" or "how are you?" are beginning points to a conversation, but a friendship is developed when more interesting discussion follows these questions. What have I learnt about a peer of mine through a conversation with them that I find interesting and can ask more about? Or, what could I remember to ask them about next time?
At lunchtime our Senior School student leaders helped coordinate a game of two truths and a lie, using information supplied by a variety of staff members in which the students had to select the lie. Not only did this give them the chance to learn something unique about a staff member, but they also gave each staff member a big cheer when named and had a lot of fun together trying to make the right decision for a prize.
The Junior school students participated in a game of tails, a competitive game of musical chairs and finished with a short dance party with the help of some of the Junior School leaders and Mr. Raven. There was lots of fun and energy.
