Principal's Update

End of Term 3 Events

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Psalm 107:1

Well, what a term we’ve had. Term 3 has been packed full of exciting activities for students and our school community. To cap it all off, this week we enjoyed the Learning & Creative Showcase. It was wonderful to celebrate the Arts, as well as Year 3 to 6 student learning, in fun and interactive ways. Thank you to our Art teachers, Andrea Greene and Andrew Perry, and our Music teacher, Andrew Philpot, for putting on a great show. Thanks also to our classroom teachers for the extra effort that went into showcasing the student’s learning. Most importantly, thanks to our students who created art, performed music and shared their learning with us. You are amazing!

We also celebrated RUOK? Day on Thursday. Students wore a splash of yellow and participated in RUOK? Day activities throughout the day, both in the classroom and at lunch time. We know that it is RUOK? Day every day. Thursday was such a great reminder of how important it is to check in on your friends and family. See the Wellbeing page in this Newsletter for some photos.

For the last day of term we had another casual dress fundraiser, raising money for new playground equipment for Ararat Chistian School in Uganda. The Senior student leaders picked the theme of Sports Colours for the day and everyone came to School in the colours of their favourite sports teams.

I pray God’s blessing upon you and your family as you enjoy the spring break. I hope it is a wonderful time of fun and memory making. God bless.

CSA Parent Survey

King’s College is again participating in the Christian Schools Australia (CSA) Community Profile: Parent Survey. This is the only national survey of its kind that is specifically designed for Christian school communities and seeks to gather key information regarding the perceptions, levels of satisfaction and priorities of Christian school families as well as their demographic profiles and the way families engage, support and interact with their local Christian school communities. We would like to encourage all parents from Prep to Year 12 to complete this important survey. King’s College will receive data specific to our school as an outcome of this survey. Please look for the link in your email to respond to this survey by 22 September 2023.

Israel & Jordan Trip 2024

I have a passion to understand how the Bible narrative would have been understood by the first listeners in their culture, and therefore have a better understanding of how God’s word can be worked out in the lives of 21st century listeners, in a vastly different culture, a half a world away.

Having visited Israel three times, Jordan twice and other lands of the Bible including Turkey and Greece, it is my experience that studying the Bible on location adds a depth of understanding to God’s word I never thought was possible. It is like opening a colouring book full of familiar pictures and then being handed a brush and paint to add colour.

From October 27 to November 12 2024, I will be co-leading a tour to Israel and Jordan. There is an open invitation to join us on this trip. The brochure below contains a link to an information session coming up very soon. If you are interested but not able to attend in person, a Zoom link can be made available. Simply register your interest for the session via this link.
