Term 4 Curriculum Overviews

Term 4 Curriculum Overviews have now been published to the Wembley Primary School website and Sentral Resources tab.

These overviews show the learning that is planned in each year level throughout Term 4. Although there may be some changes based on updated assessment data, these documents will give families an opportunity to  be more informed when discussing classroom learning with their child/ren.

Curriculum Overviews can be accessed on our website, under the 'Curriculum' menu, by clicking 'Essential Learnings'. https://www.wembleyps.vic.edu....

The overviews are also available in the 'Resources' section of the Sentral Parent Portal.

ICAS

Some of the ICAS certificates have started to arrive at Wembley. They will be sorted and distributed to students over the coming weeks. Participation certificates will be handed out in class. All students who receive a Credit, Merit, Distinction or High Distinction will receive their certificates at an upcoming assembly. Parents will be notified if/when their child will be receiving their certificate at assembly in the week prior to the presentation.

YEAR 4 CAMP - FERNGULLY

The Grade 4 students had an absolutely amazing time at Ferngully Lodge in the second last week of Term 3. Although the weather forecast was not particularly sunny, nothing could stop us from having the best time!

When we arrived at Ferngully Lodge, the little campers were full of beans. We met Joyous Jason, Terrific Tess and Cute Cooper (Jason’s dog) before getting settled into our cabins.

Our first day was filled with activities and we also had a talent show in the evening. Almost all of the Grade 4 students got up to perform for their peers and there were some incredible performances. We saw amazing acrobatics, soulful singing, delightful dancing and rambunctious rapping. There also may or may not have been some students who performed just for the lolly at the end. But who can blame them?

The second day of camp we were blessed with outstanding weather and a full day of activities. The highlight for most students was definitely the Giant Swing but we also had heaps of fun doing the ropes courses, archery, building huts and much more!

At the end of Day 2, students were able to bring their sleeping bags into the giant hall and watch a movie. It was just like going to the cinema but a thousand times more comfy. It’s safe to say that after a full day of fun and games, the students (and teachers) slept much more soundly.

On the final day of Grade 4 Camp, Jason, our camp leader, organised some extremely fun team games for the students. There was a planking challenge, funny relay games and some games that I honestly think he might have made up on the spot.

After lunch, it was finally time to get on the bus and head home. For some reason, the bus trip back was much more quiet and peaceful than the bus trip to get there.

Thank you to all the students who were respectful at all times and always did their best to show their Wembley Values. We hope you all had a great time! Thank you also to the school staff, camp staff and parent helpers who were absolutely outstanding in supporting all of the students throughout the camp.

Some students used their camp experience as inspiration for writing short stories. We hope that you enjoy reading them!
