Year 8 Walk-a-Thon for Caritas

The Justice Partnerships program has been an integral part of the Social Justice calendar at St Patrick's College for several years. Essentially each year group in the College supports a particular partner organisation throughout the year. During Semester 2, students in Year 8 will be supporting Caritas Australia.

On Thursday 19 October the Year 8 cohort will be conducting a ‘Ten 4 10 Walkathon’ in which each of the boys will complete a 10km walk around the College and surrounding quiet streets of Strathfield. To take part in the day’s events, students are asked to seek personal sponsorship to raise a minimum of $10.00, which will go directly to our justice partner. Boys are also asked to bring in an extra $5.00 to put toward a fundraising sausage sizzle which will be taking place on the day.

Parents and carers of Year 8 are reminded to please give permission for your son to take part in this event on the TASS Parent Lounge.

Noah Capaldi Arrives at Everest Base Camp

Towards the end of last term Noah Capaldi (Year 9) embarked on a fundraising mission to trek to Everest Base Camp. The purpose of the expedition is to raise awareness and much needed funds for medical research into premature births. The fund is named in memory of Noah’s sister – The Madison Capaldi Research Fund. The team as whole has raised over $214,000 and Noah’s own efforts alone have contributed $25,000 to this cause.

Congratulations to Noah on this significant achievement.
