A Sprint to the Finish

Term 4 is a short nine-week term which finishes for our students on Tuesday 5 December. I say it is a short term as there is so much packed into it that it really does feel like a sprint to the finish line. After hopefully a restful two-week break for most of our students, I hope they will have returned refreshed and energised to do their best. All students over the coming weeks will have assessment tasks which for most will include examinations. Now is the time when students need to ensure that they are not only doing their homework, but they are also starting to revise every night so that their workload does not become overwhelming. There are also many Identity events coming up, with spirituality days for some years as well as the Senior Retreat Week which will occur in Week 5 for our current Year 11 students. Our Summer Co-curricular program is in full swing with our Senior teams already having practice matches in the holidays.

I would encourage all parents and caregivers to sit down with their son/s at the start of this term and look through your calendars with them and help them plan their time. The key to a successful term is getting a balance. Often your children will get the balance right with their social life and leave little time for actual schoolwork. Having a conversation and setting clear boundaries to ensure they get the balance right is always important.

I also take this opportunity to wish all our Year 12 students the best for their HSC Examinations which started today.
