Parent Representative Role

Your role as a Parent Representative is to create and encourage relationships between parent/caregivers and provide opportunities for families to communicate and socialise.

The Parent Representative is a central point in communication between parent/caregivers, teachers and the P&F.

What is expected of you?

  • Organise social events for your class during the year e.g. parent coffee catch ups, year level play dates for the children, parent/caregivers lunches/dinners, family picnics.
  • Welcome new families and support them as they integrate into the St Helena’s Catholic Primary School community.
  • Encourage and support parent/caregivers to be involved in school community events and activities.
  • Attend P&F meetings when able to.
  • Assist the P&F in organising a group of volunteers from your class for specified events
  • Distribute information to classes and families from the P&F.

Social Events

  • Organising events that allow parent/caregivers to form relationships is also a vital aspect of your role as Parent Representative.
  • Some event ideas are parent/caregivers coffee catchups, class play dates for the children, parent/ lunches/dinners and family picnics.

Support

Your role is supported and encouraged by St Helena’s Staff and the P&F. If you have any questions or need anything during your time as Parent Representative please contact St Helena’s P&F or seek assistance from the school.
